Love Supreme has once again been met with critical acclaim as it returned to Glynde Place for it’s sophomore year with attendance up 50% on 2013′s inaugural event.
Saturday saw the likes of Jamie Cullum, Laura Mvula and the Earth Wind & Fire Experience feat. Al McKay take to the Main Stage while the likes of John Scofield Uberjam and Dave Holland’s Prism appearing in the the Ronnie Scott’s Big Top. Sunday saw De La Soul headline with a full live band after incredible performances from Imelda May, Soul II Soul and Courtney Pine with Gregory Porter closing the Ronnie Scott’s Big Top on Sunday with a stunning performance.
The weekend also witnessed some incredible performances from some of the best up and coming names in jazz from both the US and Europe. The likes Derrick Hodge, Jaimeo Brown, Melt Yourself Down, Kris Bowers, Phronesis, Laura Jurd, Ollie Howell Quintet and Takuya Kuroda all performed across the Ronnie Scott’s Big Top and Arena stages.
The bandstand made a welcome return, once again showcasing the best that the Sussex jazz scene has to offer. 2014 saw the addition of the Matua Sessions stage which saw the Love Supreme program expand further.
